PHILOSOPHY

We live surrounded by objects that are made quickly, used briefly, and replaced without a second thought.

Brent takes a different approach—creating custom furniture, cabinetry, and interior pieces meant to last, using reclaimed wood, salvaged materials, and natural forms shaped by time.

Many projects begin with materials that already carry history: reclaimed lumber, sections of trees dried over years, salvaged metal, and found components that might otherwise be discarded. A piece of old pipe may become the base of a chair. A weathered slab may become a tabletop, bench, or stool. Rather than forcing materials into uniformity, the process responds to their character, allowing each piece to remain one of a kind.

Traditional methods like shou sugi ban are often used to char wood, bringing out grain, creating contrast, and adding durability without relying on heavy synthetic treatments. Other finishes are kept simple—wax, linseed oil, and lower-toxicity sealants that protect the material while allowing its natural surface to remain visible.

Each piece is designed for its specific space and built to feel grounded in its environment—functional, durable, and made to be lived with for years rather than replaced in a few.
